The game is well-crafted to suck you in. Slurping noises sound whenever you send items to the abyss, a jaunty soundtrack keeps energy high and, of course, there’s the sudden decrease in “stuff” to keep close. Even its minor details — from cars skidding helplessly into the hole to pedestrians flailing as they’re sucked in — reflect a comedic tone to the game.
Moreover, Hole.io taps into a universal fantasy — the ability to destroy, to dominate without repercussions. There is something inherently satisfying about starting small and growing into an unstoppable force and that appeal has no age limit. Whether you want to waste a few minutes or dive into a sweaty multiplayer battle, Hole.io is a one of the most exciting addictive casual games.
