Cat School : Idle Cute Tycoon
Safety
Editor's Review
Cat School by TREEPLLA is a lovely idle simulation game available for Android and iOS devices. The game casts you as a headmaster—and this is no ordinary school. All of the students are cats — with tiny pencils, in little uniforms, full of cute shenanigans. The game controls easily, progresses offline and has a comfy art style making it an ideal easy pressure management title for cat lovers and idle tycoon fans.
At first, you have a campus that is small and has seen better days. Your choices from there will determine the future of the academy. Wise management decisions enable you to create larger classrooms, add new desks, spread out additional courses and open up other spaces such as libraries or even showrooms. You get a real feeling of progression from upgrades as your school grows, greatly expanding and developing what could become the next education empire.
The game really lives or dies by its feline learners. Each cat student has their own "personality"—curious, sleepy, studious. You can feed (and listen to other parents complain about feeding) these little pencil-wielders, watch them nod off in the middle of a lesson or have long strolls down the hallway. Best of all, there are some that wear tiny glasses or bows! Such little, warm touches make even the mundane aspects of management a pure delight.
Other than students, you can also hire teachers which will give passive bonuses to the performance of your school. Some teachers raise different things — a math teacher might inflate classroom earnings, while last year's music instructor more improved student happiness. Additionally, by training your cat pupils over a period of time you optimize the efficiency with which they generate revenue.
As is common of games in the idle tycoon genre, Cat School plays best without you needing to pay too much attention. And even after you exit the app, your cat students still learn and your school continues to earn money. There is complete offline play — perfect if you want to check in for a few minutes, grab the money you've made, and then go do something else. There are no limits on energy or punishing timers, just slow and peaceful growth.
The artwork is soft, cartoonish in nature with warm colors and relaxed animations. It has a clean, simple interface with large buttons as well as big panels displaying straightforward information. This means no long-winded menus or stressful daily tasks. Perfection for your lunch break, on a bus home or when you just want to switch off.
The rating on app stores is decent, most criticism for its cuteness and the relaxed pace of being able to progress without connection. To one player, it is "literally the cutest most adorable thing ever". Another hailed it as "a great game but you've got to be patient with it."
While others spoke on how some players are limited. Late in the game, though, progression slows down and some reviews note that he games often felt short or content-light. Some users have also commented on balancing issues, as well as the occasional bug.
Cat School is not looking to be a deep strategy game. It is exactly what the title describes: a delightful, idle tycoon sit with cats in it. If you're looking for a low-key management sim to dip in and out of during the day —and like cute cats, then this is worth picking up.
